Check Your First Archived Email
Send test emails
Send three emails, each with a unique subject such as "Archive test 1":
- From outside to a mailbox of your organization.
- From a mailbox of your organization to an outside address.
- Between two mailboxes of your organization.
Where to look
- Enter the subject in the search bar of your archive. To search all mailboxes, switch to All mail (admins and auditors). "No emails found." means the mail has not arrived.
- Open the user menu (top right) and choose Administration. The Dashboard opens.
- Check the Compliance status card: "Active, 3 emails archived". "No source connected yet" means no source is set up.
- Under Getting started, First email archived is ticked.
- Under Integrations, check the card of your source for errors. "Never synced" on a connector means nothing was fetched yet.
- For imports, open Import Jobs: Pending, Running, Finished or Failed.
If nothing arrives
BCC rule (Microsoft 365, Exchange, Google, Postfix, Mailcow)
- Check your mail server for a bounce. The error codes are listed in Setting Up Email Journaling.
- Compare the relay address in your rule with the one on the SMTP BCC relay card. It must match in full, including the token after your archive name.
- Check that the rule is enabled and applies to all messages, not only inbound or outbound.
- Wait: Exchange Online takes up to 30 minutes, Google up to an hour.
Google Workspace
- Under Gmail routing, all message types must be ticked: Inbound, Outbound, Internal - sending, Internal - receiving.
- Connector errors: Connect Google Workspace.
Microsoft 365
- Under Mail flow > Rules, the rule must be enabled and have the relay address as Bcc recipient.
- More: Archive Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online continuously.
IMAP mailboxes
- Open Integrations and click Manage mailboxes on the IMAP mailboxes card.
- If Status shows Error, click Fix, correct the password and click Test connection.
- Click the refresh icon (Sync now) to fetch at once. Otherwise the mailbox is checked about every 15 minutes.
