Advanced Search Filters
Opening the filter panel
Click the Advanced button next to the search bar to expand the filter panel. Filters can be used on their own or combined with keywords in the search bar. All active filters are ANDed together — results must match every filter you set.
Available filters
From and To
Enter a full address like [email protected] or just part of it — john or example.com both work. You can fill in both fields to find messages between two specific people.
Subject and Body
Subject searches only subject lines. Body searches within the message text. Both support partial matching.
Date range
Use From date and To date to restrict results to a time window. You can set just one end or both.
Direction
Filter by message direction:
- Inbound — messages received from outside your domains
- Internal — messages between addresses on your own domains
- Outbound — messages sent to external recipients
Attachment type
Instead of a simple "has attachment" checkbox, this is a dropdown with specific file types:
- Any — any attachment
- Word — Word documents
- Excel — spreadsheets
- PDF — PDF files
- Image — image files
Size
Set a size threshold with an operator (greater than, less than, etc.) and a value in KB or MB. Useful for finding large messages with big attachments.
Note
Search for messages that have a specific note attached to them.
Ref
Search by Message-ID or References header. Handy when you have a specific message identifier from mail server logs or another system.
Resetting filters
Click the Reset button at the bottom of the filter panel to clear all fields and start fresh.
